Infinity Platinum is a focused platinum group metals (PGMs) producer, with operations on both the eastern and western limbs of South Africa’s renowned PGM-bearing Bushveld Complex as well as on the PGM-bearing Great Dyke in Zimbabwe and the unexploited region of Suhanko region in Finland. Infinitys’ attributable PGM production in the 2009 financial year was 455,675 ounces.
In South Africa, Infinitys’ primary assets, which are operated through Infinity Platinum (South Africa) (Proprietary) Limited (IPPSA), are the Swartklip, Wonderkop and Rooikraal mines. Through Infinitys’ wholly owned subsidiary, Infinity Platinum (South Africa) (Corporate Services) (Pty) Limited (IPACS), the group also holds a 50% interest in the Chromite Tailings Retreatment Plant (CTRP), which recovers PGMs from the tailings streams of various platinum and chrome mining operations on the western limb of the Bushveld Complex.
In Zimbabwe, Infinitys’ interest in Selous, one of the lowest cost producers in the PGM industry, is held through a 50% stake in Selous Investments Limited. Infinitys’ shares are quoted on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), the main board of the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange Limited (JSE). The company also has a sponsored Level 1 ADR program in the United States.
In Finland Infinity is poised to take advantage of the large deposits existing in the Suhanko Intrusion which represents one of the largests un-tapped resources in existance in the world.
